How do I update using a Mac?

We only produce Windows update software for the C550. But you can still update on your Mac if you are running Windows. Please see this article for further details: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201468

Apple’s own Windows environment is accessed using Apple’s boot camp assistant.

Customer experience shows that if you partition your Mac HDD and install stand alone Windows, the C550 update software works. Additionally, using VMware Fusion to install a virtual drive, then installing Windows , allows the C550 update software to work.

Parallels also allows the C550 update software to work - please click for further details

Install all “important” updates from Windows Update.

Re-run Windows Update until there are no more “important” updates.

In Control Panel, Programs, UNinstall any Visual C++ programs/runtimes.

Restart the Windows virtual machine.

Install the following updates, in order:

Restart the Windows virtual machine.

Re-run Windows Update.

Install any new “important” updates. (I had 3 Visual C++ security updates.) Restart the Windows virtual machine.

In the Windows virtual machine, start a web browser. Log in to Cheetah member’s area and follow the instructions to update.

Parallels should ask whether to connect the C550 to the Mac or to the Windows virtual machine. Choose Windows.

Run the downloaded update from the Windows desktop.
